Yalba, which in Mayan language means people, is the name of this magnificent duo, originally created in Mexico City in 1975 as a project of university students. The group later evolved into a professional six-piece band.

After many years of musical training and touring Yalba is now able to master an impressive variety of folkloric instruments from around the world, many of which are hand made by the group’s musical director Omar Gonzalez.

Yalba incorporates most musical styles in their show: Folk Music from North and South America, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Russia, Spain Norway and Swede, Tropical Music, Popular Music, Classical Music and Latin Jazz.

Yalba has performed in most major cities in their native country of Mexico but also Germany, France, Sweden and the United States. For the past 36 years Yalba has been the star act on cruise ships all over the world with some of the most prestigious Cruise Ship lines

These days Yalba performs mostly as a duo. The group masters over 40 instruments and in a show where sometimes up to three instruments are played at the same time by each band member, the pure virtuosity and power of the show will leave you not only breathless but with an unforgettable experience.

Yalba que en Maya significa Gente fue originalmente creado en 1975 como un proyecto de estudiantes universitarios y después se convirtió en un grupo professional.

Después de muchos años de entrenamiento musical y muchos viajes; Yalba es capaz de dominar una impresionante variedad de instrumentos musicales, muchos de los cuales son fabricados por ellos mismo. y una gran variedad de ritmos y estilos musicales de diferentes partes del mundo.

Yalba ha actuado en diversas ciudades de Mexico, Estados Unidos, Suecia Francia, Austria y Alemania .

Yalba ha trabajado en barcos de crucero desde 1983 en las más prestigiosas compañias de crucero.

Actualmente Yalba actúa como Duo Yalba y es su espectáculo interpretan mas de 20 instrumentos musicales y el virtuosismo y la fuerza de su espectáculo los dejará gratamente impresionados.
